Day 9: Faith

Old Rugged Cross
This picture is very personal to me because of the meaning of this cross. This necklace belonged to my mother who proudly wore this nearly every day since the sweet stranger gave it to her. It was hand made by the man with nails used for concrete (I think) and wire. He was a customer at her work and she helped him. They got to talking about cancer in which they both were in remission. He had made this cross as his reminder to rely on the Lord and give thanks. My mom was in tears over his story and admired his necklace so much. He took it off and put it on her, stating he could make another one for himself. She was very touched by his gesture of kindness. My mom's cancer came back a few years later and she still wore that necklace, she was always praising the Lord for what he did bless her with. She passed away March 18, 2007. I knew this is the one thing of her I wanted most. I have it hanging in my car. I look at it everyday. I hold it and pray when I need to be reminded of my "FAITH". I am glad I have a chance to take a picture of it and actually showcase it.
Love you mom. Miss you.
